The Shepherd’s Cottage

The Shepherd’s Cottage, a cosy cottage that has been renovated in keeping with its original character, is just over half a mile above the Highland village of Dulnain Bridge in the Cairngorm National Park.  It has gardens to the front and a west-facing one to the rear with a patio and garden furniture.

Finlarig Burn, a small stream, runs down below this garden and is wonderfully peaceful at the end of the day with the sun going down. We put  feeders out to encourage a wide variety of birds and other wildlife, including red squirrels, hare and roe deer which are often seen.

The Shepherd’s Cottage, which is well away from any main roads, sleeps up to four guests and offers single level accommodation. It is very central for exploring the whole area, including the towns of Grantown-on-Spey and Aviemore which are both close by.  There are many walks straight out of the cottage doors. ‘Upper Finlarig’  (Cottages) is marked on the local ordnance survey maps which we offer for use during your holidays.
